In simplest terms, the vinyl goes in a hopper that creates a hot "puck" that goes into the press, with plates top and bottom, like a vinyl sandwich. Hoses pump high-pressure steam into the moulds, pressing into the grooves to create the music. After a short wait, and a cold water bath to solidify the plastic, it's on to a trimming machine then cooling rack for 48 hours "to make sure it's nice and flat."
