The Power of the Purse fundraiser on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the George Preston Recreation Centre was hosted by the Soroptimists of the Langleys. It raises money for the service organization which also presented the Karen Wandler Memorial Awards, also known as the Ruby Awards, to two local women with long histories of community involement - Karen Long and Teri James.
