A Shinto Shrine ritual was held at Campbell River's Torii Gate in Sequoia Park on July 6 as part of a visit to the city from a delegation representing its Sister City, Ishikari, Japan on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the twinning relationship. The Torii was a gift to Campbell River from Ishikari in 1993 on the 10th anniversary of the two cities' twinning.
