With chants opposing one councillor outdoors and pop music on the piano in chambers, a new council was inaugurated at Victoria city hall Thursday (Nov. 5).
The ceremony started with a traditional Songhees welcome, and for some members, their official entry finished with a pledge of allegiance to the king, just ahead of signing their oath.
