JRCC Victoria was alerted to a person overboard on Monday (Dec. 8) shortly before 3 p.m. after a Royal Canadian Navy member fell from a rigid hull inflatable boat about one kilometre east of Bentinck Island off Metchosin. At the time, the vessel was returning members from sentry duties off the Bentinck Island range, Rear-Admiral David Patchell, commander Maritime Forces Pacific and Joint Task Force Pacific, said in a news release.
