Coiled under a cardboard box, in a tank tucked away in the back room, far from prying eyes, the once abandoned Ivy thrives in a new den. The ball python wasn’t healthy when she arrived at her new home, a pet shop on the Pat Bay Highway. She’d been in care at the nearby CRD animal shelter, after being rescued from a parking lot by a Sooke Potholes visitor. Someone had someone put her in a pillowcase in a box with a rat and and abandoned both. Now Ivy serves as an animal ambassador with a Saanich pet store.
