A juvenile male elephant seal returned to the region on April 1, landing on shores of the Saanich section of the Gorge Waterway. Dubbed Emerson, he'd last been seen in September 2023 near the Songhees Walkway in Vic West. April 5 he was evicted to a beach far, far away.
