Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland says freedom of the press is an essential human right that strengthens democracy. A former journalist herself, Freeland was responding to a question about whether the anti-media rhetoric of President Donald Trump has played a role in police violence against journalists covering protests in the United States.
