Andrew Scheer raised the spectre of a tax-and-spend Liberal-NDP coalition government and urged Canadians to hand the Conservatives a majority on Oct. 21. The Conservative leader's pitch came a day after NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh said he would be open to formally working with a Liberal minority government. Neither Singh nor Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau spoke of a potential alliance on Monday, however, instead sparring over a new North American free trade pact still awaiting ratification.
