An artists' reception was held in the lobby of Black Rock Oceanfront Resort on Friday evening, March 16, to celebrate the opening of ArtSplash! 2018. ArtSplash! is the largest non-juried annual art show on the West Coast. Up to 60 artists have their work on sale and on select days, Artists in Action demonstrate their talent live. ArtSplash! is held in conjunction with the Pacific Rim Whale Festival and hosted by the Pacific Rim Arts Society. Each year, visitors are invited to vote for their favourite work of art. Mark Hobson was the peoples' choice winner in 2017 for his painting 'Bald Eagles Waiting for Salmon in Kynoch Inlet'. (Nora O'Malley / Westerly News)
