Cowichan Search and Rescue were called out Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020 to rescue a dog that had gotten swept into the Cowichan River and had become stranded on a sand island. The dog was successfully rescued. Search and Rescue want to remind people not to let their dogs get too close to the river's edge. In this case, the dog jumped in after a salmon.
