It might not be the hottest story of the year, but it certainly is the coldest. On January 15, West Coasters had an unusual dump of fluffy white snow. While Tofino and Ucluelet schools remained open, some parents decided to call an unofficial 'Snow Day' to let their kids experience the thrill of playing in powder. "It should be an official Canadian Holiday here in Ucluelet," said kayak tour operator Kevin Bradshaw. "We only get a snow day once a year, maybe." Sara McArthur said she was having lots of fun with her two kids. "We've been here all morning. We went home to warm up for a little bit, but back in the snow," she said.
