A hockey player paralyzed in the Humboldt Broncos bus crash says he's feeling good after returning home after five weeks in Thailand where he received spinal surgery. Ryan Straschnitzki said he was glad to feel a cold winter as he and his father Tom landed at the Calgary International Airport Sunday night. He had an epidural stimulator implanted in his spine which has allowed him to straighten his leg and walk with assistance using a wheeled machine. Straschnitzki, who was paralyzed in the Humboldt bus crash, says he hopes Health Canada will allow the procedure to be done here at home. The family paid up to 100-thousand dollars to have the surgery themselves. (The Canadian Press)
