Monday was the kickoff to the Festival of Trees, an event where companies and organizations in the community pay $250 each to decorate a tree that will be on display through Christmas at Newlands Golf & Country Club. This is the 29th year for the fundraising event. After Monday's tree trimming event, which included live music and refreshments, the festival continues through the holidays. The public is invited to come down, and for a minor donation to the cause - the Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation - they cannot only admire the festive trees, but vote for their favourite.
