Canada's second ultra-low cost airline is getting ready to take flight Swoop, an offshoot of WestJet, takes to the skies this week with a trip from Hamilton, Ont. to Abbotsford, B.C. Flair was Canada's first ultra-low cost carrier, and soon Canada Jetlines will take off as well They will offer heavily discounted fares but will charge for everything from an on-board drink to checked baggage The hope is that customers who don't normally fly due to high prices will be willing to ride with Swoop or its low-cost competitors One transport analyst says it's an uncertain new business model with the potential to bring in new customers Chris Murray, transportation analyst
