People gathered at Buy-Low Foods on a sunny Saturday afternoon barbecue to help raise money for a good cause.
Their money will sponsor five District of Hope volunteer firefighters as they ascend the 739 stairs that make up 48 storeys in BC Lung Association's annual Stairclimb for Clean Air fundraiser.
Included in the group of local fundraisers is last year's female firefighter winner, Rebecca Arrowsmith, who represented Hope alone in 2017 at the Sheraton Vancouver's Wall Centre Hotel event.
This year's event will be held on Feb. 18.
