A landslide on Mount Hays has washed out a section of road leading to the mountain's summit. The slide is located just before the first lookout on the mountain trail, and has carved out a channel approximately 30 metres wide, blocking the road and preventing vehicles from driving through. A maintenance crew from Telus was on site at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 12, but were forced to turn around due to the heavy build up of fallen trees and roots.
