Heavy winds May 24 uprooted trees and took out the power in the town and county of Ponoka. Portions of the town were out of power for several hours and quite a few county residents were out of power into the next day. There were some instances of trees falling on cars and homes but it is believed the overall damage was relatively minor considering the heavy wind gusts.
