While Saturday's blustery West Coast weather nixed the Pacific Rim Whale Festival's Tug-o-Whale competition, scheduled for Wick Beach, it didn't deter a team of dedicated Surfrider Pacific Rim volunteers from spending their afternoon removing tiny pieces of plastic from the sand. The local Surfrider chapter's chair Michelle Hall will be one of several key speakers at Sunday's Sea-change Panel Discussion being held at the UCC at 3 p.m.
